Meet the PI

Dr. Angela R.S. Kruse
 

Angela is passionate about: 1) technology and how it can help us answer important questions in human and environmental health. 2) mentorship to help trainees achieve their potential and reach their career goals. 

Angela completed her Ph.D. at Cornell University, then joined the Vanderbilt University Mass Spectrometry Research Center as a postdoctoral researcher before being promoted to research assistant professor. She joined the Ohio State University Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity in January 2026.

Dr. Kristie Baker
 

Kristie is passionate about: 1) the application and dissemination of mass spectrometry and its ability to solve complex real-world problems. 2) LGBT+ inclusion and visibility in STEM fields.

Kristie completed their PhD in Analytical Chemistry in the lab of Dr. Vicki Wysocki at The Ohio State University in August 2025. They joined the Kruse lab in February 2026. Outside of lab you can find Kristie knitting, playing D&D, reading, and bouldering.
